Rumors have been circulating that actor Sai Pallavi has adopted a vegetarian diet for her role as Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated Ramayana. However, the Kali actress recently shut down these claims with a strong statement on X (formerly Twitter), warning of legal action against outlets spreading false information. The rumors began after a Tamil publication reported that Sai Pallavi had turned vegetarian for the role.
Responding on X, Sai Pallavi wrote, “Most of the times, almost every time, I choose to stay silent when I see baseless rumors, fabricated lies, or incorrect statements being spread, with or without motives (God knows). But it’s high time I react as it keeps happening consistently, especially around the time of my films’ releases, announcements, or cherishable moments in my career! Next time I see any ‘reputed’ page or media/individual spreading a cooked-up story in the name of news or gossip, you will hear from me legally! Period!”
Interestingly, Sai Pallavi has always been a vegetarian, a fact she confirmed in a previous interview. She shared, “If you take food, I am forever a vegetarian. I can’t see when a life dies. I can’t hurt another person and think that it is okay, they deserve it.”
There were also rumors suggesting that Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Ram in the film, has adopted a vegetarian diet for his preparation. However, Ranbir has not publicly confirmed this.
Meanwhile, the excitement around Ramayana continues to build. Sunny Deol recently shared more details about the film at the third edition of SCREEN Live. Along with his brother Bobby Deol, Sunny confirmed that he has a significant role in the project. He explained, “Ramayana is a long project because they’re trying to make it the way Avatar and Planet of the Apes movies were made. All those technicians are a part of it. The writer and director are very clear about the way it has to be and how the characters should be presented.”
