KBC 16 Contestant Nareshi Meena Reveals Amitabh Bachchan Will Cover Brain Tumor Treatment Costs: ‘The ₹50 Lakh Winnings Will Be Mine’

On a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, contestant Nareshi Meena moved megastar Amitabh Bachchan to tears with her story. She revealed that she had undergone brain tumor surgery, but due to the tumor’s complex location, it could not be fully removed. To continue her treatment, she needed proton therapy, which is costly, and she came on the show to win money for this purpose. Amitabh Bachchan promised to cover her treatment costs, and Nareshi won ₹50 lakh on the show, dramatically changing her life.

In an exclusive interview with Indianexpress.com, Nareshi shared that Amitabh Bachchan’s team had reached out to her and was helping arrange her treatment. She said, “His team has contacted me and asked me to choose the doctor and hospital for my therapy. He will directly transfer the money to the hospital, and they will cover all expenses. The ₹50 lakh I won will be mine, and the treatment costs will be covered by Big B’s funds.”

Reflecting on her experience, Nareshi described her time on KBC 16 as a dream come true. She said, “Meeting Big B and talking to him was possible because of KBC. These are some of the best moments of my life. People tell me I did wonders on the show, and it has greatly boosted my confidence.”

Nareshi expressed her joy in being able to replace the jewelry her mother had sold for her treatment and also gifted her aunt gold earrings upon returning from the show. She added, “I’m happy that I can replace the jewelry my mom sold. My family has received a lot of recognition and congratulations. When I returned home, my entire village held a welcome party.”

Looking ahead, Nareshi hopes to meet Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal, as she is a big fan of theirs. She plans to use part of her prize money to build a home but mentioned that this is not yet confirmed as she is also considering marriage.

Nareshi, who is from Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, has been trying to appear on KBC since 2017. Despite several auditions, she finally made it onto the show after seven years. Her family was overjoyed when she made it to the hot seat. “No one expected me to be there, so everyone was very happy. I hadn’t told anyone until the KBC team came to shoot.”

Nareshi concluded by expressing her gratitude for not being a burden despite her health challenges.
