The Chatrapati Shahuji Maharaj university administration has postponed the convocation function scheduled to be held on its campus November 3. The next date of convocation is yet to decided. This will be the 30th convocation function this time for which the preparations had begin. But as the chief guest for this annual event could not be finalised that the programme had to be postponed, informed the university sources.
According to the office of Vice Chancellor, the circular of the postponement of the convocation has been released. But no reason had been given for doing the same. The university sources informed that the convocation has been postponed for at least a month or so and may now take place by the end of November or in the first week of December.
The sources also informed that the preparations for this annual function had been going on for past one month and recently a list of the students getting the medals had been released. The list of the students getting medals had been released on the university’s website on October 16.
The university had also invited objections/clarifications to the list of the students bagging top medals such as Chancellor’s gold medal. The students and colleges had been given a week’s time to raise the objection. Preparations were going on to final the list of the student to receive Chancellor’s Gold medal on October 28 but it seems now all this work will go on hold for while.
A senior university official said that the preparations will not stop and everything will be made ready according to the set time frame.
