Devoleena Bhattacharjee Addresses Pregnancy Rumours, Urges Respect for Privacy
In response to ongoing pregnancy rumours, actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee took to Instagram Stories to address the speculation. While she neither confirmed nor denied the rumours, she asked the public to respect her privacy and refrain from intruding.
Devoleena’s Response On Saturday morning, Devoleena shared a message on Instagram Stories, stating that she would announce her pregnancy when she feels ready and requested people not to “bother” her in the meantime. She emphasized that the decision to share such news would be hers alone.
“For a long time, many people have been messaging me about my pregnancy, creating news around it. I assure you, when I feel like sharing any such news, I will do so myself. For now, please stop bothering me,” Devoleena wrote.
She also questioned why people were so eager to know, wondering if their curiosity stemmed from a desire to create headlines, generate content, or engage in trolling. Regardless, she reiterated that none of this would sway her desire for privacy.
“What difference does it make if you find out whether I’m pregnant or not? Will you make headlines, create content, troll, or post a few nice things? Trust me, I don’t need any of that. This is my personal space, and you are not welcome to intrude,” she stated. She added, “I’m sure you wouldn’t like it if someone invaded your privacy. There’s enough content on social media to keep you busy. By now, I hope you understand that I don’t appreciate interference in my personal life.”
The Rumours Devoleena’s statement followed the circulation of photos that some interpreted as showing a baby bump. The comment sections of her posts were filled with questions and well wishes, with some followers even referring to her as a “mommy-to-be.”
Several fans speculated whether Devoleena was expecting her first child with her husband, Shanawaz Shaikh. Comments like, “Gopi bahu, are you pregnant? I need to tell Kokila ben the good news, please let us know,” and “Is she pregnant?” flooded her posts, with others congratulating her in advance.
More About the Couple Devoleena married Shanawaz Shaikh in a court wedding in Lonavala in December 2022, attended by only close friends. Following their marriage, she faced backlash and trolling for her decision to marry someone from a different faith.
In an October 2023 interview with E-Times, Devoleena responded to the trolls, saying, “If I had married a wealthy man, people would have called me a gold-digger. If I married someone like SRK (Shah Rukh Khan), they would’ve questioned why he married me.”
